Educational technology is the combined use of computer hardware, software, and educational theory and practice to facilitate learning.
In 2001, the classroom shifted to be data-driven after the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) was passed. Many of the current solutions are based on test driven data and missing the key metric of understanding how each student is engaging in the material and studying. Data-driven instruction is a buzz word in the EdTech Industry and a teacher is given the responsibility to ensure they use the data effectively in the classroom.
